Vacation Bible School 2009 is “in the books” and it was another spectacular year! Every corner of the church was abounding with hearts and minds learning more about the love and forgiveness of Christ. Each year our VBS kids, teachers, helpers and people from the community support a mission project. This year three missions were chosen. The children filled the sanctuary steps with food for Agape’s food pantry. They also raised $1,900.00 for Tanner’s Romania Mission and Nothing But Nets which provides mosquito nets for those in Africa. Great Job!

Current News & Announcements
In the Year of Our Lord 2013 – First Church will celebrate 175 Years of Ministry. Each 25 year anniversary has been marked with days of celebration, special worship & music, the production of an anniversary keepsake, and the publication of a new historical book. The Elders would like to begin preparing for this significant event with the preparation of a new historical booklet. Nearly all of the 150th Booklet committee now “surrounds us as a great cloud of witnesses!” We are starting now so as to consider all parts of the history and to add to it these past 25 years. If you would be willing to serve in preparing this book please contact Donald Henschen to indicate your willingness to share in this project.
Community Breakfast
The first community breakfast was a great success so we’re doing it again! Join us on Saturday, July 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, coffee, juice and a sweet treat. Come enjoy breakfast and visit with your friends and neighbors. |
