Tanner Romanian Mission – The Blue Jug: Pastor Dave has received a request from The Tanner’s in Romania who care for 33 disabled men, women, boys and girls in relation to their financial needs to support this ministry which began 18 years ago. First Church has always been in the “forefront” of supporting this ministry. With the falling value of the dollar in the past 24 months they have had to release 4 staff members and reduce programming for the residents to remain solvent. The Mission uses 85% of every dollar provided for food, utilities, building repairs, medical care, education, and transportation of their residents. They use only 15% of every dollar to pay salaries. They do not have to purchase clothing as it is provided by friends in Ireland. They need our help! The “blue jug” is on the Chancel Steps once again! Drop your change into the jug each week to help care for these forgotten Romanian children who now receive wonderful care and are exposed to the love of Jesus Christ! [I have a goal in mind between the jug and the Christmas Eve offering of raising $5,000 for this ministry! I know we can do it! +PD].
